Dr. Satish Nair has successfully performed over 300 endoscopic as well as robotic thyroidectomies in 5 years with excellent surgical and patient related outcomes. We use endoscope or robot and perform thyroidectomy via two approaches. It can be either post-aural rhytidectomy approach with incision placed inside the hairline or 3 small incisions of 0.5-1 cm incisions placed over the axilla and breast. In the rhytidectomy approach there is no inflation of the surgical field with gas but in the breast-axillary approach we use inflation of field with gas (similar to laparoscopic surgery for abdomen). Most of our patients are young models and are in profession that requires scarless physique. Dr Nair conducts hands-on workshops and mentors young aspirants who wish to become successful Head and Neck surgeons. We also have various ongoing studies regarding the feasibility and quality of life outcomes of endoscopic and robotic thyroidectomies.
